She is merely a puppet in the hands of her dominating husband. Karuna, in spite of her feeling desperately suffocated, tries to adjust with the husband.
She even advises Anjali to stick around Abe or remain single because she will not get a good partner at that age. But Anjali divorces her husband and immediately starts her partner-hunting expedition.
Kumar Bhandari is ready to take Anjali as his third wife. In the Bombay society, women work, marry, divorce and remain single. It takes time for Karuna to come into that society.
This involvement brings her closer to Krish, a married man and a friend of her husband. Her husband wants to divorce suspecting her paternity.
She moves out and makes a life of herself. Here she differs from her mother. Karuna is able to come out of her marriage bond boldly unlike her mother. Her husband cheats her by not giving the alimony after the divorce.
Karuna is also not interested in the alimony from her husband. Even during the period when she had been divorced by her husband and had to move from place to place in search of a job, her attitude of being herself does not quite leave her.
Her sole concern during this stage too is how she can shake off her middle- class background. Even in this state she tries to have an identity for herself in the society. So she really looks forward to acting. She is even invited to the Outlooks anniversary party which is considered more honourable.
She graduates from writing to making ad films and is asked to script a major TV serial sponsored by a soft drink company. Slowly she is raised to the pinnacle of fame. Having realized that living alone also can give happiness, Karuna refuses the ex-husband, even though he grovels at her feet to come back to him.
She refuses the proposal of Girish. Moreover, the earlier marriage and the bitterness of it have taught her not to have such horrible experiences any more in her life. It turns out that the "secret" isn't much of one. All it takes to get rich is mastering a few simple concepts, such as paying yourself first and living within your means , which Clason preaches via a collection of entertaining parables.
By telling the story of two dads — his own, and the father of his best friend — he explains how to build wealth even with a small salary. Additionally, Kiyosaki challenges the popular belief that your house is an asset, details the differences between how rich people and average people choose to get paid, and emphasizes the critical difference between an asset and a liability. You don't need a budget, you don't need to make a lot of money, and you don't even need willpower to accumulate a fortune, he writes.
Once I changed my thinking, the money started to flow. Self-made millionaire Grant Cardone knows a thing or two about managing money: The entrepreneur has built five companies and a multi-million dollar fortune. Preview — Rich Woman by Kim Kiyosaki.

Jun 25, Krista rated it liked it. This was a quick read, she wrote it as if she was talking to and teaching a group of friends about how they can take control of their financial life. She doesn't like that there are woman out there that don't know how to do anything with money other than balance a checkbook! She wants woman to be more aware of the world and how they take care of themselves and their families through learning about investing.
It isn't a "how to" book, more of a book to increase awareness. Feb 14, Tiffany rated it it was ok. Don't make fun of me! I have decided to learn about the world of investing.

I didn't know the first thing about investment options or jargon before I picked this up. I still can't say I know much jargon, but I do know that there are smart ways for me to handle my money and investments that even I could handle.
The only negative thing I have to say about this book is the format was a little too "women getting together to have coffee and chit chat. Oct 27, Catherine rated it it was amazing.
Kim makes an excellent case for the dire need for women to be financially independent and the U. S statistics and sympathetic worldwide trends to back up her case are startling: The 1 thing couples fight about is money.
We live in a totally different society to the one my mother grew up in and an entirely foreign world to the one my grandmother grew up in, and as such I personally feel the need to actively pursue my own financial education.
